The scarecrow outfit is sized for porch geese of 17, 23 and 27 inches: Small, Standard and Large. It is an intermediate project that takes about 4 h, in 15 steps. For a 23 in goose you need ¾ yd of plaid or rust fabric, ¼ yd of denim or blue fabric and ¼ yd of straw-color fabric for the hat. You will practice gathering a skirt, setting in puffy sleeves and lining a brimmed hat.
The scarecrow outfit is a dress in a plaid or rust print with a denim-blue front that ties on with a band and straps, like overalls. The hat is lined, with a brim, ties and a hat band, in a straw-colored fabric. The tie-on front is what sets it apart from the harvest outfit, which has an apron and a bonnet instead.
Good for: Halloween and fall porch displays (more in Halloween and fall goose outfits) and a Thanksgiving porch (read Thanksgiving porch goose outfits).
