Sewzy
Sewzy ("the app") is a sewing-pattern and learning app for iPhone. This policy explains what the app does and doesn't collect.
What we collect
- Nothing tied to your identity. The app has no accounts and never asks for your email or address. If you add a display name or profile photo on the Me tab, it stays on your device only and is never sent to us.
- Purchases are handled by Apple and our subscription provider RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app-generated user ID and your purchase status so your subscription works and can be restored. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
- Sewing coach. When you ask the coach a question, the text (and a photo, if you attach one) is sent to our server and forwarded to Google's Gemini API to generate the answer. The same applies to the photo search (Find a pattern from a photo): the photo you pick is sent the same way only to suggest the closest patterns, and it is not stored. Messages are not stored beyond what is needed to answer and to enforce daily limits (a count per anonymous ID). Do not include personal information in your questions.
- Content downloads. Pattern PDFs and images are downloaded from our content server; standard server logs (IP address, time, file) may be kept briefly for reliability.
What stays on your device
Your display name and profile photo (if you add them), your measurements, project progress, badges, photos you add, settings and anything else you save in the app are stored only on your device (and in your iCloud backup if enabled). We cannot see them.
Tracking & advertising
Sewzy contains no ads and no third-party tracking or analytics SDKs. We do not sell or share data.
Free pattern downloads
When you download a free pattern on sewzy.app, we store the email address you enter, which pattern you downloaded, the date, and whether you ticked the box to receive sewing tips. We use it to send you the download and, only if you ticked the box, occasional new free patterns and sewing tips (you can unsubscribe from any email). We never sell or share your email. To have it deleted, write to hello@sewzy.app.
This website
Our website, sewzy.app, uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful (pages viewed, rough location, device type, how you found us). It does not identify you and is not used for ads. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are measured without analytics cookies (Google Consent Mode). See how Google uses this data. The iPhone app itself contains no analytics.
Children
Sewzy is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Your choices
Delete the app to remove all on-device data. Manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. To ask us to delete server-side coach usage records for your anonymous ID, email us at hello@sewzy.app.
