The skirt is 1.6 x your hip all round: full but not bulky. Length is waist to hem; lengthen or shorten on the marked line.
Light to medium wovens with drape: cotton lawn, linen, rayon challis, double gauze, chambray, seersucker. Avoid stiff or thick fabric: the gathers get bulky.
